Digi-Slides.com Turns Still Photography Into Action-Packed DVDs Starring You

A New Service Offers Affordable Way to Watch Family Photos on TV. Photos on DVD provide an easy way to distribute family albums to friends and relatives. An economical alternative to scrap books.

Glen Ellyn, IL January 26, 2004 -- "I got the DVD this morning and my heart was pounding so fast I could hardly rip it open fast enough! My mom was here and we both cried throughout the whole thing!" Sounds like a local teenager talking about the latest Hollywood DVD release, doesn't it?

Except in this case the DVD in question wasn't produced in Hollywood. It came from a small company in Glen Ellyn, Illinois where it was created by Digi-Slides.com, (www.digi-slides.com). The speaker is Kristin Hawk who commented after viewing the DVD for the first time. The images in the DVD show her one-year-old daughter who has been recovering from open-heart surgery.

"People treasure these moments that might otherwise disappear into a family photo album and sit forgotten on a shelf," said Joe Beda, president of Orbit Enterprises.

Digi-Slides makes DVD movies from still photography. "It's a service that is in high demand," Beda said. "We live in a world of action and sound. What people see PBS doing with old Civil War photos, they want for their own photos," he concluded.

When Digi-Slides creates a DVD movie, they use special effects transitions to change from picture to picture. They also use "pan-and-scan" or zoom-in techniques to simulate action. The process includes the use of visual themes and background music to enhance the production. The process, which takes about a week to complete, allows for the storage of hundreds of pictures on a DVD organized into multiple sections or chapters.

"Soon most American homes will have a DVD player so we anticipate a growing market for our services," said Beda. Customers can expect to pay significantly less than it would cost for scrap-booking to have Digi-Slides turn their photos, both digital and traditional, into a professional DVD.

Kristin Hawk continued, "I can't thank you enough, or put into words, how special this is and how much this means to us. It's perfect! The title section at the beginning is just what we envisioned! You guys are awesome! I can't wait to share it with our family and friends on Saturday...I better stock up on the Kleenex! Thanks a million."

Digi-Slides.com is a division of Orbit Enterprises, Inc. which is headquartered in Glen Ellyn, IL. Founded in 1982, the company is privately owned and specializes in digital imaging. Samples of the Digi-Slides process can be viewed at www.digi-slides.com.
